Matchday #3 Predictions

Matchday #3 Predictions

Matchday 3 is here, and in the words of the great Fabrizio Romano, “Here we go!”

For this year's match predictions competition, the loser will have to run, live on stream, the highest distance covered by a player in a match. For example, last year Abdoulaye Doucoure ran 13.27 km (8.2 miles). Which, for some of us who are more out of shape than others (looking at you, Nathan), 13.27 km is quite the distance. If any of you have any other ideas for the punishment please let us know. Without further ado, let’s get into the predictions.

(Note: Predicting scores will be used as a tiebreaker in the case that we predict the same outcome.)

Arsenal vs. Brighton:

  • Nathan’s Prediction: 2-1 Arsenal

  • Seth’s Prediction: 3-2 Brighton

That pained Nathan to choose Arsenal, and that is why I am riding with Brighton this week. This game is set to be a high-scoring thriller, and I can’t wait to get up at the crack of dawn to watch it. Those of you in England don’t realize how lucky you are to catch games in the afternoon instead of at 5:30 a.m

Everton vs. Bournemouth:

  • Nathan’s Prediction: 1-0 Bournemouth

  • Seth’s Prediction: 0-0 Draw

Fun fact: Everton have yet to record a goal or assist this year—excluding Pickford's assist to Son last week, of course.

Ipswich Town vs. Fulham

  • Nathan’s Prediction: 1-1 Draw

  • Seth’s Prediction: 2-1 Fulham

It will be interesting to see if Ipswich can get their first Premier League win this weekend. We don’t think so, but it will be close.

Leicester vs. Aston Villa

  • Nathan’s Prediction: 2-0 Villa

  • Seth’s Prediction: 2-1 Villa

Will we have a bounce-back weekend from Villa after a tough loss to Arsenal last week? We sure think so, but let us know what you guys think in the polls 👇

Brentford vs. Southampton

  • Nathan’s Prediction: 2-0 Brentford

  • Seth’s Prediction: 1-1 Draw

My prediction for this game is that I will probably just check the score on my phone.

Nottingham Forest vs. Wolverhampton

  • Nathan’s Prediction: 2-1 Nottingham Forest

  • Seth’s Prediction: 3-2 Nottingham Forest

After Wolves' beatdown by Chelsea, we're both lacking a bit of confidence in their ability to win this game against Forest, who have started the season strong and are looking to pounce on a vulnerable Wolves team.

West Ham vs. Man City

  • Nathan’s Prediction: 3-1 Man City

  • Seth’s Prediction: 3-1 Man City

This doesn't need much explanation. With the form that Haaland and De Bruyne are we're both about 95% certain that Man City will win this game (We would go all the way to 99%, but then we would look even more foolish if they lost). Nonetheless, it should be a great game.

Newcastle United vs. Tottenham

  • Nathan’s Prediction: 2-2 Draw

  • Seth’s Prediction: 2-1 Newcastle

This one's going to be close, but the Spurs' offense was on fire against Everton. And that's exactly why I picked against them. It would be very 'Spursy' of them to lose after such an amazing performance.

Chelsea vs. Crystal Palace

  • Nathan’s Prediction: 3-0 Chelsea

  • Seth’s Prediction: 4-1 Chelsea

Hot and cold—that sums up Chelsea’s season so far. They were on fire against Wolves last week, but then... they played Servette and lost. That’s why we’re backing Chelsea to win this Sunday—they’re bound to come out firing, fingers crossed. COYB!

Manchester United vs. Liverpool (GOTW)

  • Nathan’s Prediction: 3-2 Liverpool

  • Seth’s Prediction: 3-0 Liverpool

Personally, I (Seth) think this game will be much closer. However, back in 2023, I placed a bet on Man United to beat Liverpool, and they ended up losing 7-0—SEVEN-ZERO! They cost me money, and now I want them to get a serious thrashing to add insult to their already painful loss against Brighton. So now altogether- “Walk on! Walk on! With hope in your heart, And you’ll never walk alone….YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE.”

That concludes our predictions for Matchday #3! Thanks for reading and subscribing. If you have any suggestions or ideas for future emails, we'd love to hear from you—just reply to this message with your thoughts. See you Tuesday for our rundown of next week’s games.
